The Marilyn Lastman Award for the Arts

A prize of $5,000 awarded to an artist or arts administrator in any arts discipline, who has made a significant contribution in the field of arts education. The award will be made to an individual who is either a resident of the City of Toronto or working as an arts professional in the City of Toronto.

2004    Itah Sadu  children's author, storyteller, owner of A Different Booklist bookstore in Toronto
2002    Winsom  visual artist with an extensive background in textiles, painting, installation and video
2000     Awards totalling $100,000 were made to Toronto's 15 professional orchestras.
The recipients were:
Canadian Contemporary Music; Canadian Opera Company Orchestra; Cathedral Bluffs Symphony; Downsview Symphony; Esprit Orchestra; Etobicoke Philharmonic; Festival Wind Orchestra; National Ballet of Canada Orchestra; North York Concert Orchestra; Orchestra Toronto; Scarborough Philharmonic; Tafelmusik; Toronto Philharmonia; Toronto Sinfonietta; Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
The Marilyn Lastman Award is no longer presented. As of 2007 there is an "Arts For Youth Award"
