Past Awards presented by TACF:
| The Marilyn Lastman Award
for the Arts, is a prize of $5,000, awarded to an artist
or arts administrator in any arts discipline, who has made a significant
contribution in the field of arts education. The award will be made
to an individual who is either a resident of the City of Toronto or
working as an arts professional in the City of Toronto. |

2004: Itah Sadu, children's author, storyteller,
owner of A Different Booklist bookstore in Toronto.
2002 : Winsom, visual artist with an extensive background
in textiles, painting, installation and video. 2000:
Awards totalling $100,000 were made to Toronto's 15 professional orchestras.
The recipients were:
Canadian Contemporary Music; Canadian Opera Company Orchestra; Cathedral
Bluffs Symphony; Downsview Symphony; Esprit Orchestra; Etobicoke Philharmonic;
Festival Wind Orchestra; National Ballet of Canada Orchestra; North
York Concert Orchestra; Orchestra Toronto; Scarborough Philharmonic;
Tafelmusik; Toronto Philharmonia; Toronto Sinfonietta; Toronto Symphony

| Mayor Mel and Marilyn's Youth
Awards. At Mayor Mel and Marilyn's 1999 Ball for the Arts,
grants of up to $10,000 each for a total of $100,000 were awarded
to 14 agencies for activities designed to provide mentoring opportunities
for young emerging artists, children or youth at risk or with special
needs and school audiences. Over 50 arts and community agencies benefited
from this program, in which more than 1,500 children and youth from
across the city were active participants. |
